Catholic Charities Renovation 2018
A non-profit office renovation
Catholic Charities is a non-profit organization that services the community in Syracuse, NY. The organization tasked the Environmental and Interior Design students at Syracuse University to design the renovation of their four floor office originally built in 1910. The renovation was intended to create an uplifting feel throughout the building. Working in groups of three, we tackled the redesign of the 60,000 sq ft space.

Having one large kitchen shared between the Catholic Charity floors of the building, promotes connectivity in employees. The cafe style seating allows for interaction between employees who typically reside on separate floors.
An open office design was used to increase the amount of natural daylight entering work spaces to improve overall mood, as well as provide flexibility to grow in desk count. Also, The Catholic Charities branding colors, red and blue, were incorporated throughout the interior to provide a sense of unity within the spaces. While the renovation modernized much of the building, small details and a gallery space were incorporated to honor the buildings traditional architecture and long history in the community.
GROUP CONTRIBUTION:
Team members Ariella Pereda and Yong-Joon Kim contributed the floor plans for the Second, Third, and Annex levels pictured in the poster, while I was responsible for the Ground and First floor. They were also heavily involved in the assembly of Construction Documents. An FF&E packet was assembled for this project, primarily my responsibility. I also designed the poster for our client presentation.
